Day 1: Nairobi – Samburu Game Reserve
This morning we travel by road to Kenya’s northern frontier. Wild and rugged, Samburu is fiercely beautiful with its arid savannas watered by the lovely Uaso Nyiro River. It is also one of Kenya’s most protected areas and home to species only found north of the equator, from the reticulated giraffe to Grevy’s zebras and Beisa Oryxes.
We also enjoy Larsens Tented Camp or Samburu Intrepid Camp, our luxurious hostelry set beneath a canopy of acacia trees along the banks of the river.

Day 2: Samburu Game Reserve |
Dawn breaks in golden bands as we start our day in the bush by scanning the river from our tent’s veranda with a cup of steaming coffee in hand. Before the dew is off the grass, we’re off in pursuit of the elephants, lions, leopards, and cheetahs that thrive in the reserve’s grasslands and acacia woodlands.
And so the day is spent in alternating pursuits of exploration in the bush and relaxation in our cozy camp.

Day 3: Samburu – Aberdare National Park (Tree Lodge) or Mt Kenya National Park |
After an early breakfast we head South to Serena Mountain Forest Lodge or the Ark Tree Lodge. The Lodge, which comes alive at night with the various sounds of animals, is one of the exotic “Tree Hotels”.
All of the en-suite rooms have balconies from which you can look beyond the trees to observe the endless parade of wildlife. You can watch these animals from the safety of your room or from a specially built viewing bunker connected to the lodge by a tunnel, which affords you an amazing up-close view of the animals as they visit waterhole’s and salt lick.

Day 4 : Tree Lodge – Lake Nakuru National Park |
Today we travel to the exotic Lake Nakuru National Park located in the Great Rift Valley. After lunch an exciting game run is planned for the afternoon. The game in this park is plentiful and the magnificent bird watching will make a devotee out of even the most reluctant.
The Park is a home to stunning flocks of lesser and Greater Flamingos, which literally turn the lakeshores in to a magnificent pink stretch. The bird life here is world renown and over 400 bird’s species exist here, White Pelicans, Plovers, Egrets and Marabou Stork.
It is also one of the very few places in Africa to see the white Rhino and rare Rothschild Giraffe.

Day 5: Lake Nakuru – Masai Mara Game Reserve |
This morning we drive through the dramatic Great Rift Valley to the Masai Mara National Reserve. This enormous reserve is actually part of the vast Serengeti plains famously known for its spectacular great wildebeest’s migration and is home of the Big Five: Lion, Elephant, Leopard, Buffalo and Rhino.
Lunch at our Lodge and relax before departing for the afternoon game run. The Mara Game Reserve-one of the greatest wildernesses of the world. Large mammals are varied, and easy to see.
Residents among the Park’s are: Masai Giraffe, Buffalo, Eland and thousand of plain game including Impala, Zebra, Topi, both Thomson’s and grants Gazelles.

Day 6 : Masai Mara Game Reserve |
The search for great predators and perhaps even cubs continues today during extensive game runs. On the plains are enormous herds of grazing animals plus the elusive cheetah and leopard hiding amidst acacia boughs.
During our stay we also have an optional opportunity to visit a village of the Masai people to witness the singing and dancing that are part of their daily lives and sacred rituals. A glimpse into their homes and social structure is a poignant experience.

Day 7: Masai Mara – Amboseli National Park |
Amboseli is our destination today – home to the legendary Masai tribesmen and famous for huge herds of Elephant. Amboseli is big game country: Lion, Cheetah antelope, Zebra, Wildebeest, buffalo and giraffe.
The afternoon game run is planned to introduce you to intense beauty and drama that fill each day here. Africa’s highest mountain, Kilimanjaro – can be seen from all the lodges that ‘African Spice’ uses.
Amboseli Serena Lodge or Ol Tukai Lodge or Amboseli Sopa Lodge

Day 8: Amboseli National Park |
Rising early for good views of Mount Kilimanjaro before clouds build up over the summit, we set off for another stimulating ‘Spice’ game drive. Amboseli is an excellent place to view a multitude of wildlife, including everything from Wildebeest to Giraffes to Baboons.
Optional visit to a Masai village is planned after breakfast. Masai warriors are famously known as the proud nomadic tribe whose legendary prowess in battle and single-handed acts of bravery in fights with the wild animals are known across the world A visit reveals the singing and dancing that are part of their daily lives and sacred rituals.
A glimpse into their homes and social structure is a poignant experience. Midday finds us at our lodge for lunch and afternoon rest, followed by another extensive ‘Spice’ game drive.
Ol Tukai lodge or Amboseli Serena or Amboseli Sopa Lodge

Day 9: Amboseli – Tsavo West National Park |
Our next stop is Tsavo National Park. The Park is a vast expansion of African savanna with a more diverse array of habitats which include open plains, semi desert scrub, woodland, Chyulu Hills and rock outcrops.
It’s famous for the Red Elephants, Oryx, and Gerenuk among other mammal’s species and bird life. Other notable features include Mzima Springs which are water source for Mombasa Town, Shetani Lava Flow and Ash cones, which is an example of recent volcanic eruption. Movie the Ghost and the Darkness was shot here.

Day 10: Tsavo West – Mombasa |
Today you have an early morning game drive. A great opportunity to see nocturnal wild animals give way to daylight and the wake to diurnal animals in this magnificent park. After breakfast you overland to Mombasa.

Day 11 & Day 12: Mombasa Island |
Enjoy the next two days in Mombasa at the beach. The perfect destination to relax under the tropical sun and the coconut palm trees.
Here you have lots of options like visit the Fort Jesus Museum, sunbathing on the beautiful beaches, visit the Marine Parks, participating in the various water sports, snorkeling, Buccaneer diving, touring Mombasa town as well as shopping.
